The central region, often called Seronera, is the heart of the Serengeti National Park and offers excellent year-round wildlife viewing. It has open savannahs dotted with rocky outcrops (kopjes), which attract big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs. This area has one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the park.
