Sukovo Monastery is a male Orthodox monastery, that is part of the Nisse diocese. The monastery is located 18 km east from Pirot, in south-east Serbia, at the right bank of Jerma River. It is dedicated to the Ascension of the Holy Virgin. The date of the construction of the monastery is unknown, while the small monastery church is thought to have been constructed in the middle of the 19th century. The church of the Sukovo monastery was painted in 1869 by Vasil Pophristov аs we could see his name on the sign of the icon above the entrance of the church. The wall decoration is remarkable, especially the fresco of the Holly Virgin with wings. On the east wall, it´s depicted/painted the composition "Battle between Good and Evil". The relics of monk Vinijamin, who re-opened the complex in the 19th century, are preserved in the monastery.
