The building of the National theatre is situated on the University square and was finished in 1973. The architects were a group of romanian architects, because the old building was totally destroyed during WWII. Firstly the facade of the building was designed as the facade of the moldavian monasteries but after that it was reconstructed and reached its massive outlook. The theatre has 4 halls and in front of it there is a statue commemorating the romanian scriptwriter Jon Luka Karadzhale. Today the facility is named after him. His acts are well known for making fun with politics and making fun on the way the romanians lived in the end of 19th century.
