Manasija monastery was built by Stefan lazarevic, son of prince Lazar and princess Milica. It is located close to town of Despotovats. The building of the main church started in 1407 in time of very complicated political situation. The monastery was finished for 10 years. It is surrounded by solid fortress walls, has 11 towers, dining room, magnificent Despot tower (over 20 m high). Stefan Lazarevic died in 1427 and was buried in the "Holy Trinity" monastery church.
