Arenal Volcano is a sleeping giant with a warm heart, hidden in the rainforests of Costa Rica. For a long time it was considered inactive, until in 1968 it suddenly woke up and showed its true power, changing the surrounding landscape. With its almost perfect conical shape, Arenal looks as if it was painted, and around it gush warm mineral springs, heated from the depths of the Earth. Today, the volcano is calmer, but its presence is still felt - a quiet throb beneath the jungle, a reminder that nature never sleeps.
