Kermanshah is a city in western Iran, located 526 km. from the capital Tehran and 120 km. from the border with Iraq. The city has just over 820,000 inhabitants. A few centuries ago, the Silk Road passed through Kermanshah, and the population was engaged in trade and agriculture. Near the city is the Behistun Inscription of King Darius I, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The modern city today has three universities, and Shahid Ashrafi Isfahan International Airport serves flights from all over the world. Thanks to the favorable climatic conditions of the fertile Sarab Valley and the river of the same name, a variety of fruits and vegetables of excellent quality are grown in the vicinity of the city.
