The foundations of the clock tower in Tirana were laid by Hadzhi Etem Bey . The construction was completed with the help of the richest families in the city at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Although affected by the World War I , the tower was reconstructed in 1946 and is now standing on Skanderbeg Square in its full glory.
